Since my time in LA I had noticed the trees on my street have bloomed the most beautiful flowers. It inspired me to purchase this eye palette by Too Faced, and have been using it everyday since. Peach tones on the skin are so flattering to everyone! It can make any age group look youthful and fresh, and since it’s light in colour its not totally scary to apply. Perfect if you’re not into colour but want to try spice things up.

*Not a sponsored post, I genuinely just love this palette!*

After a few years in the business and my share of eavesdropping from the makeup chair I have learnt a thing or two. That’s not to say I’m an expert in the field, but I hope I can share the tips I have learnt from working with the best!

1. The fairer you are, head towards softer colours; think baby pinks and cool undertones. The darker you are, experiment with light oranges and corals.

2. Peach tones in combination with gold are a match made in heaven. In my experience, sweeping a gold based eyeshadow over a peach eye make the eyes look brighter and are a stunning day look.

3. The same goes for the skin. Peachy blush is my absolute favourite paired with a gold based highlighter. This works really well with my skin tone and deeper skin also, but if you’re more pale opt for a pearl highlight instead.

4. Watch that you don’t look like you have an eye infection. To avoid this, don’t run the same peach under your lower lash line. Stick to rich browns for this and save the peach for the eye lid.
The way I achieved this day look was to simply sweep the peach tones over my entire eyelid. I added a little shimmer to the centre and a gold highlight to my inner corner. For the night, work deeper orange colours in to the crease.

Josie Marian Highlight Oil + Mac Strobe Cream for a dreamy glow.

Bare Minerals powder foundation brushed all over the skin. Can not recommend this foundation enough if you have slightly oily skin like myself but still want to achieve a dewy look! It combats the issue really well but isn’t too heavy.
For any problem areas and a little under the eye I used Nars Soft Matte concealer blended with my fingers.
On the cheeks, the 3 in 1 Hourglass cream palette. I love working with creams for a natural look. I blended these three products out using a damp beauty blender.
And the hero! The Too Faced Sweet Peach palette on the eyes.
I finished off with tight lining my lash line to give the appearance of darker lashes, and applied Dior Mascara. (Another cult favourite in my makeup bag right now!)

I often get asked what my skincare routine is. Although I’m one of the lucky ones to have not-so-bad genes, there are a couple tips I have that keep it clear all year round!

If you follow me on Instagram you’ll know that I follow a healthy diet 90% of the time, with the other 10% saved for those chocolate emergencies and Sunday brunch. Interestingly, I notice that my skin flares up almost immediately if I eat unhealthily for a couple days in a row. Each of us are different in the ways we react to certain foods. Personally I find too much dairy causes my skin to breakout but for you this might vary. There’s no secret ingredient here, but you are what you eat. Following a lifestyle that focuses on being a little extra health conscious will definitely help go a long way in giving your skin some glow.

I keep my skin care routine very simple. Here’s the breakdown!

1. I remove my makeup using circle eye pads and Micellar Water.

2. I wash my face with the Cetaphil gel cleanser + my Clarisonic to really get in to those pores.

3. Moisturise + eye cream + sunscreen.

4. Every few days I use a face mask before bed. Particularly the nights before an early shoot. My current favourite is the Detoxifying Green Mask by Sukin.

In my experience, using simple natural skincare products works a treat. Just like a diet fad, ‘miracle’ products won’t work and certainly not instantaneously! Putting a little extra 5 minutes of love into your skin will work wonders.

Ahhhh sleep. Getting between 7-9 hours of sleep at night will boost blood flow to the skin, making it appear plump and glowing. Have a big night out? You will most likely have dull, lifeless and dehydrated skin the next morning.

The grande-finale, MOISTURE! I would certainly not have the skin I do if I didn’t drink enough water. If you’re dehydrated, so is your skin. I used to be one of those kids that hated water and avoided it at all costs going for the coke or juice instead. After some practice, I now drink at least 3, maybe 4 litres a day. If you struggle with water intake then I suggest you drink two cups before every meal. This tip seriously helps me remember to get it in!

As you can see there are no tricks. I think the most important thing to take away from this post is that I focus on clearing my skin from the inside out! The healthier you are from what you put in your body will reflect on the outside. These tips are purely what has worked for myself, but may not work for you if your acne is severe or extreme. If this is the case and it has been going on a long time, it might be worth considering seeking professional guidance from a specialist.

I’ll be the first to admit that I love trying new foods. Chia seeds are a trending food that has stuck around as a cupboard staple for me, and for good reason. They are extraordinarily high in fibre and Omega-3s which makes them the perfect nutritious superfood to try. As of late, they have become my favourite way to start the day, so wanted to share my recipe for a protein-packed breakfast.

This recipe is really beneficial post-workout also, as getting that protein kick within 45 minutes of exercise ensures you retain the tone you just worked hard in the gym for!

  • 2 tablespoons of chia seeds
  • 1- 1/2 cups of dairy-free milk or water
  • One scoop of Vanilla protein powder
  • Grapefruit to top (optional)
  • Blueberries (optional)
  • pinch of cinnamon

Simply mix everything together in a bowl and leave it to thicken up. If I am in a rush and want it asap I leave it for as little as 30 minutes, but for a more desired texture leave it overnight. Chia seeds expand when they are filled with liquid, gelatinising to form a jelly-like texture.

Toppings are endless, but I went for what I had in my fridge today which was half a grapefruit and some blueberries. One of my favourite tips to take a healthy meal to the next level is to pop a handful of berries in the microwave for 20-30 seconds to create a quick hot berry sauce!

This is the time of year where most of us have to do a little balancing to ensure we can get that special person a gift for a suitable price.

Trust me, she’ll love it.

Puffer jackets are back on every ‘it’ girl’s radar. Finding the right coat that is functional and stylish isn’t always an easy task, so I’m not mad about the fact that ski slope worthy jackets are cool again.

Take some inspiration from the ways puffer jackets have been worn this season, and then shop my favourites below!

I workout everyday first thing in the morning. It’s something that comes with the job, and I do my best to stay healthy. New York is the hub for fun workout classes. I mix it up between Cyc Fitness (a high-energy, music-driven, indoor cycling experience), boxing with my trainer Rob Piela at Gotham gym, or barre. I got the opportunity to cast for the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show this year; so I dedicated a lot of time to working out. The level of girls at the casting were incredible, so many of them I looked up to so I felt honoured to even cast.

Today I had just one casting in the afternoon, so spent the majority of the day studying. I am currently enrolled in a Communications degree by correspondence, so this keeps me busy.

As per usual I woke up and had porridge topped with fruit for breakfast. It’s what I eat almost every morning! My schedule for the day consisted of a casting in the mid morning, a test shoot followed by another casting. If I get my schedule and know I’ll be out all day like this, I try to pack a healthy snack like cashews or fruit. Although, I typically don’t snack if I’m home and try to stick to three meals. I had an egg white omelette for lunch with tons of roast veges, and chicken with roast kumara and broccoli for dinner. Although I have a rather healthy diet 99% of the time, I’m not restrictive to treats like cake and ice cream if it’s on my mind. New York has so many amazing restaurants and cafes, it’d be silly not to take advantage!

Today I packed my bags and jetted to Spain for a location shoot. I’m going for one day which is a lot of traveling for 24 hours so I have learnt to be as organised as possible. My top tips for flying are plenty of water, taking a mask on the plane, and a clear toiletries bag. It makes getting liquids out so much easier through security, no need for ziplock bags.

I landed back in NY after two days away, and have the day off! I’m going to brunch with a friend at my favourite Aussie cafe Bluestone Lane. Next week I’m taking off home, which I’m super excited about. This means I’m missing Fashion Month this year, but felt I needed some family time. As much as I love the excitement of New York, little old Palmerston North is always home for me.

There’s a soft spot in my heart for all things varsity prep; and despite any complaints aimed at a certain Mr. President, it seems the rest of America (or New Yorkers) agree. This week I’m putting a spotlight on style that comes in colours red, white and blue by curating a few favourite pieces to add to your wardrobe this season.

Hey guys!

This is another way I love to style my hair without using any heat with help from my trusty Tresemmé products. As you can imagine my hair goes through a lot at work so I try to avoid hot tools wherever I can. This look is also super simple and easy for any hair length and perfect in a pinch!

Follow my first blog post which you can read here to achieve the no heat wave.

Gather half of your hair ear to ear into a high ponytail. On the last ‘loop’ with your hair tie, don’t pull it through all the way, leaving a bun and tail.

Wrap the ‘tail’ end around the bun, and secure in place with 3 or 4 bobby pins.

Braid two 2cm thick sections of the remaining hair wherever you like and tease the end to hold in place. Micro braids like this are such a subtle way to upgrade your look! I did one on either side.

And we’re done. It’s that simple and so chic.

Hey guys!

I have teamed up with TRESemmé to show you how I achieve my natural no-heat waves with their new Botanique collection. I pretty much wear this look on a daily basis and it’s so easy.

P.S The coconut smells delicious too…

This is pretty self-explanatory, but a little goes a long way so don’t apply too much product! Use your fingertips and the shampoo in circular motions all over the scalp. Follow this with the conditioner through the ends. When you’re out of the shower comb the hair with a wide tooth comb or

You can do this the night before and sleep on it, or if your event is in the evening you can leave it in whilst doing your makeup etc. As this is a no heat process it takes a little longer to let the hair air-dry but it is well worth it for healthy, shiny hair!

Part your hair down the center and separate into two sections. Starting close to the part with a small section of hair, twist AWAY from your face grabbing pieces as you go down. This doesn’t have to look pretty as we will be taking it out once your hair is dry. It is essential this is done with damp/wet hair so that it lasts all day.

Continue all the way down until there is no hair left then twist this into a bun at the base.

Repeat this on the other side.

The next morning, take out your hair and you should be left with soft, shiny waves! Comb through

with your fingers to achieve a beachy, tousled look and víola!
